Nisha Kothari's association with Ram Gopal Varma may have ended with the pathetic performance of Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag. But this bombshell, who found herself stranded in Bollywood after being dropped by Ramu, is making a strong comeback to South India through Raj: The Showman. The film has all the ingredients of becoming a huge hit with Puneet Rajkumar as hero. Shooting is progressing in the outskirts of Bangalore. This skinny girl with killer looks was introduced in Tamil with Jay Jay opposite Madhavan. She made her Hindi debut with James and Sarkar, both directed by Ram Gopal Varma. Since her debut in Hindi, she was known as the muse of Ram Gopal Varma but their next film, Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag, a remake of the legendary Sholay, was a complete box office washout. Even Ramu admitted that Aag was a mistake. With Aag (translated fire) fast extinguished fast by the audience, the friendship between the director and the actress also ran out of steam. No, I’m not adding an extra ‘a’ and ‘k’ to my name. Nor am I visiting a dozen deities for my well being,” says a laughing Nisha Kothari, denying rumours that she is getting progressively religious and superstitious to salvage her career. “My parents and I just visited one temple. In any case, I’m not answerable to anyone except my family,” she says. Crying foul against charges of misconduct on the sets of Aditya Dutta’s Good Luck, Nisha says, “I’ve never abused anyone. Stories of my bad behaviour on the sets are growing. I no longer find these rumours funny. I’ve not shot for any film called Good Luck. I couldn’t give them the dates they wanted. I said no to Good Luck, and maybe some people didn’t like that.”About her role as Basanti in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sholay, she says, “I just finished dubbing for my role. I have seen Hemaji in the earlier Sholay but my character Ghungroo is not like Basanti. We dress, speak and behave differently. Ghungroo behaves like a man but she’s all woman inside. She’s a bundle of contradictions. There are different emotions to express in one character. No, I’m not adding an extra ‘a’ and ‘k’ to my name.
